Context:

In December 2024, during Art Basel, Cartier celebrated in Miami the 100th anniversary of its Trinity collection—an icon of eternal love. Agency K2 (The Independents) created an immersive exhibition in a stunning building in the Design District, culminating in a monumental infinity room titled "Love is All".

Initial brief:

Capture a meaningful souvenir for each guest without breaking the immersive atmosphere.

My approach:

When I received the plans and design intent, I proposed a complete technological shift to elevate the creative idea into a truly seamless experience. No screens, no buttons, no visible interface—just a seamless, autonomous photo experience fully integrated into the mirrored space. I suggested replacing visible interfaces with a one-way mirror setup, removing the iPad, and automating the interaction through computer vision and sensors. A prototype was quickly built in Montréal to validate angles, lenses, lighting and sensors, ensuring both feasibility and precision.

Solutions implemented:

Technical challenges:

Innovation:

This project was the result of a strong creative concept by K2, elevated through my technical proposal and execution. My initiative turned the design into a fully seamless, contactless, invisible experience—where technology amplified the art without being seen.

Results:

Viral TikTok coverage, enthusiastic reactions from all audiences, and even a marriage proposal captured in the photobooth. The system remained elegant, fluid, and reliable throughout the exhibition.

Client feedback:

"Was great to collaborate with Damien! Always looking to improve and make the guest experience seamless and creative!"
