Is AI going to kill websites? Yes, and here’s why

Let’s face it: the era of “http” is over. This won’t benefit anyone in terms of brand identity control, but why maintain countless websites with different interfaces when all we really want is a precise answer? The signs are already there. Google is struggling, while tools like Perplexity are booming by delivering clear, sourced, and instant responses.

Beyond traditional web browsing, the lack of centralized video content remains an issue. Why can’t we simply ask, “Show me the Oscar-winning movie, you know, the one with the actors wearing hats on the poster,” instead of wasting time scrolling through Netflix, Prime, and Disney+? For now, Siri is completely incapable of this, and Netflix fiercely protects its walled garden, determined to keep users within its own platform. But for how much longer?

The real question remains: will we still have the freedom to choose our AI assistant, or will one be forced upon us? I’d like to believe we will…
