Prototyping: The Art of Technological Iteration
2025-03-03
Prototyping is a key stage in technological creation. It’s the moment when a simple idea begins to take shape, where exploring the realm of possibilities gradually leads to concepts far more refined than the initial vision.
I make, unmake, and remake. I adjust, optimize, experiment, backtrack, readjust… There is no fixed formula—just a series of trials, errors, and small miracles that culminate in a satisfying result.
I am not an artist, yet like them, I refine my technique and sharpen my approach to channel the avalanche of ideas that flood my mind. I can spend hours perfecting details that no one else will notice, yet they bring me immense pride.
From projecting a starry sky that gradually unveils its constellations to revealing a logo with a simple wave of the hand, from a northern light created by DMX-controlled beams that respond to a room’s atmosphere to invisible interactions that immerse the audience… Each prototype is a step closer to the magic of the moment, where technology fades away in favor of pure emotion.
But behind this magic lies a technical challenge: designing systems that can run 24/7 without devouring the entire budget on oversized hardware. Because mastering creation also means mastering constraints.
