Following the success of the vascular disease information portal created for the Quebec Vascular Science Society (SSVQ), it became apparent that despite the rich content written by specialists, the accessibility of this complex information remained a challenge for the general public. The need for a more simplified and interactive approach became evident to facilitate understanding of vascular diseases.
Beyond making educational content more accessible, the objective was to create media momentum to raise public awareness about vascular health. A true public health operation that would allow patients and their loved ones to better understand the disease and dare to ask questions they sometimes hesitate to address to their doctor.
Train a language model (LLM) with texts from the existing portal and a multitude of anticipated questions corresponding to the concerns of the target audience. Develop an interface accessible both online and via mobile applications, with an evocative name: LivIA – a virtual assistant dedicated to vascular health.
This project is part of a public interest mission with the full support of the SSVQ's board of directors. The boldness to be among the pioneers in using conversational AI for vascular health demonstrates a forward-thinking vision in service of the common good.
